Jose, a native of Honduras, graduated with a teaching certificate in 1991, a BA in Theology in 1996, and received his Professorate in Theology in 2005. He pastored a local church in Honduras for 10 years and moved to Vancouver in June 2006, with plans to pursue a Master's in Divinity at Multnomah. He has been married for seven years and has two daughters.

Sarah Beth graduated from LIFE Pacific College in 1999 with a BA in Bible and an emphasis in teaching. She began working at VCHS as a subsitute teacher in the spring of 2000 as she pursued further education at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. In May 2004, she graduated from Concordia with a teaching certificate in secondary health education and Oregon and Washington teaching certifications.

Susan Carlson

Susan holds a B.S. degree from U.C. Davis in mathematics with a minor in education, as well as a teaching certificate with a secondary math endorsement. She is currently working on her Master's degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction at Seattle Pacific. She has four wonderful children.

Megan Hamilton

Megan received her BS degree in Bible and Youth Ministry from Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN. She met and married her husband in Jackson, WY, and worked as Financial Technician for Boise State Athletics to support him through school. The Lord moved them to SW Washington to be a part of a Sovereign Grace church plant. Megan was introduced to the VCHS community by serving as an assistant volleyball coach in 2007. The Lord continues to provide for the Hamilton family and they are grateful for the gift of their first child, Anaya Grace, in Oct. 2008.

Peggy Koppes

Peggy received a BA from Oregon State University and an MEd from City University with a focus in French and English. She is currently in the final year of study for a Master's in French at the University of California Santa Barbara. Peggy and her husband Larry have five children and two grandchildren.

Debbie has worked in Christian education since 1977 and as a school secretary since 1984. She has worked at VCHS since it opened in 1997. Her two children graduated from VCHS.

Sherri is a graduate of Multnomah School of the Bible with a double major in Bible. She holds a BA in Psychology, an MA in Education, an ESA credential in school counseling, and is a credentialed NILD Educational Therapist. She is married and has two boys.

Dori is in her 15th year of teaching. She received her BA in Language Arts from Seattle Pacific University. She has been married for 22 years and has three sons who have all attended or are attending VCHS.

Roger Miller

Roger received a BA in teaching social studies from George Fox College. He earned his MA in educational administration from Heritage College. Roger has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and school administration. He and his wife Debi were the founders of Vancouver Christian High School in 1997.

Linda Morris

Linda grew up in Woodland, WA and graduated from Central Washington State. She completed post-graduate work at Portland State University. During her career in both public and private schools, she has taught from kindergarten to 12th grade. Linda is married with five children and seven (absolutely wonderful) grandchildren.

Joanne Quinn

Joanne brings 17 years of teaching experience to VCHS, 11 of those in Christian schools. She is a graduate of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

Rick Root

Rick graduated from the University of Washington with a science degree. Over the last 25 years, he has taught every level from third grade through high school, both overseas and in the U.S., and in both public and private schools. Four of his children have attended VCHS, so his family has been part of the school since it opened in 1997.

Chris Russell

Chris has a double degree in physics and chemistry with a minor in mathematics, and a graduate degree in counseling psychology. Besides teaching, she has worked as a chemical engineer and in private practice as a counselor specializing in adolescent issues. She is married and has two sons.

Jim Sheppard

Jim Sheppard is a native of Texas, retired USMC Officer, father of four grown children, and an ardent sports fan. He graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Master's in Teaching and a Bachelor's in History/Latin American Studies. He is a 30+ year licensed and certified coach from the youth leagues through high school in various sports. He is also director of his own soccer camps known as JumpStart Soccer Camps. He is married to his lovely wife Nancy, who is a native of Oregon, and a career health professional. He has taught in both the Junior High and High School disciplines of the Social Studies, Bible, Health, and PE now for more than 10 years. He has an ongoing and very active ministry through the Racers For Christ/Team RFC organization as a Chaplain.

Janaya Watne

Janaya graduated with a BA in communications from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as a magazine editor for 11 years before joining the staff at VCHS in 2005.
