About Us

Seeing a Need

In 1996, Christian school educators/administrators Roger and Deborah Miller began considering the possibility of starting a Christian high school in Vancouver, Washington. They recognized, through their contacts within the Association of Christian Schools, International, whose Northwest regional headquarters is located in Vancouver, that there were several thriving K–8 Christian educational institutions, but that no private, non-denominational Christian high school currently existed.

A Common Vision

The Millers, as well as many others, believe that healthy communities offer a variety of educational choices to their citizens. Establishing a nondenominational Christian high school would provide an educational alternative to help meet the diverse educational needs of the community. They wanted to explore the possibility of meeting that need by founding just such a school.

A School is Born

Just a few months and several miraculous moments later, in the fall of 1997, Vancouver Christian High School opened its doors with 34 students, in grades 9–12. Since then, the school has grown in enrollment and has added grades 6-8.
